1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Skykids Africa's platform (skykids.co.ke), enrolling in our courses, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you are registering on behalf of a minor (under 18 years), you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on their behalf.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Skykids Africa Limited, registered in Kenya. They are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act 2018, the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and the Children Act 2022.
If you are accessing our services from outside Kenya, you also agree to comply with any applicable local laws in your jurisdiction.
2Services
Skykids Africa provides online and hybrid coding education for children and teenagers aged 6 to 18. Our services include:
• Live interactive coding classes with expert instructors
• Access to our learning management platform and student dashboard
• Coding playground and project building tools
• AI-powered learning features to enhance education
• Course materials, assignments, and assessments
• Progress tracking and reporting to guardians
• Certificates of completion
• Portfolio tools for students
• Parent/guardian portal for monitoring
Services are delivered primarily online. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice.
3AI Usage Policy
Our platform incorporates AI-powered features to enhance learning. By using these features, you agree to the following:
• AI tools (including Google Gemini) are used to provide educational assistance, not to replace teacher instruction
• AI-generated content is provided for educational purposes and may not always be accurate
• Students should not input personal, sensitive, or private information into AI tools
• AI interactions may be logged for quality improvement and child safety monitoring
• We do not use student data to train external AI models
• Parents/guardians may opt their child out of AI features by contacting us
• AI outputs are not a substitute for professional advice
We regularly review AI features for safety, accuracy, and age-appropriateness.
4Account Registration
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• Each student account is personal and non-transferable
• Parents/guardians are responsible for their child's account activity
• You must maintain the confidentiality of login credentials
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at skykidsafrica@gmail.com
• We reserve the right to suspend accounts suspected of fraudulent activity
• Accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be archived
5Code of Conduct
All users must:
• Treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with respect
• Not share inappropriate, harmful, or offensive content
• Not attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the platform
• Not share login credentials with others
• Attend scheduled classes or notify in advance of absence
• Submit original work (plagiarism is not tolerated)
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of access.
6Intellectual Property
All course materials, curriculum content, platform design, and branding are the intellectual property of Skykids Africa. Students retain ownership of their original code projects created on our platform.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit our materials without written permission.
7Class Schedule & Attendance
• Classes run on agreed schedules with small class sizes for quality instruction
• Missed classes are not automatically rescheduled
• Make-up classes are subject to teacher and admin approval
• We observe Kenyan public holidays (no classes on these days)
• Schedule changes require at least 24 hours notice
• Persistent no-shows without notice may result in enrollment review
• Classes are delivered in East Africa Time (EAT, UTC+3). International students are responsible for time zone conversions
8Limitation of Liability
Skykids Africa provides educational services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for excellence, we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes, career results, or academic achievements.
Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for:
• Technical issues on the student's end (internet connectivity, device problems)
• Outcomes of AI-generated suggestions or code
• Third-party service interruptions (Google Meet, Firebase)
• Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Kenyan law.
9International Students
Skykids Africa welcomes students from all countries. For international students:
• Services are priced in Kenya Shillings (KES). International payments may be subject to exchange rates and banking fees
• Classes are conducted in English
• All times are in East Africa Time (EAT, UTC+3)
• These terms are governed by Kenyan law, but we respect applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
• Communication and support is primarily via email and WhatsApp
• Certificates issued reference Kenyan standards and Skykids Africa curriculum
10Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved through mediation first, and if unresolved, through the courts of Kenya.
